Interior Designers

 

The Strategy + Design Shop thrives on being unconventional and mixing it up across various industries that offer a broad range of future-focused projects and design explorations - including but certainly not limited to your traditional "architecture".  We pursue opportunities to make bold ideas come to life via research and design.

 

We are seeking talented interior designers to join our team! We’re looking for someone with exceptional design intuition, backed by the experience and polished technical skills to lead documentation from concept through the built realization of exceptional spaces and experiences. Although your experience in commercial and hospitality spaces is a plus, you look forward to engaging in cool nontraditional project types as well.

 

We are looking for Interior Designers with 7-10 years experience in…

 

  • Commercial and hospitality spaces (a plus).

  • Conducting programming and space planning efforts.

  • Rendering conceptual design ideas and preparing 2D and 3D presentation drawings.

  • Developing innovative design concepts which are reflective of client goals, schedule, and budget.

  • Applying extensive code knowledge and understanding of IBC and ADA into detailed construction documents.

  • Selecting and coordinating color and material palettes, while developing specifications of furniture, lighting, flooring, wall covering, artwork, wayfinding, and EGD.

  • Estimating material requirements and preliminary costs.

  • Preparing and managing documentation during SD | DD | CD phases.

  • Communicating with other disciplines, designers, consultants, fabricators, vendors, and contractors to successfully deliver project drawings or requirements.

  • Soliciting bids and assisting in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of the materials, finishes, and furnishings.

  • Supporting the Construction Administration phase by managing RFI’s, CO’s, and shop drawing review.

 

Your Qualifications:

 

  • An accredited Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or foreign equivalent.

  • NCIDQ certification or be a registered Architect (or on licensure track).

  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Sketchup, InDesign. Photoshop, Illustrator, and V-Ray are a plus.

  • Superior verbal, written and graphic communication skills.

  • Sophisticated technical skills and knowledge to lead detailing and construction documentation.

  • Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier relevance.

  • Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, signage, art, wayfinding/EGD, and timeless color schemes.

  • Proven ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines and provide exceptional service to clients.

  • The desire to work in collaborative environments but also take initiative and pride in being self-sufficient.
